Cannot make calls abroad

I can’t make calls while abroad, even though EE says I can, I’ve tried resetting etc, I have an iPhone 12.

any advice?

Did you text ROAMING to 150 before travelling to make sure the account was set up for roaming?

No but I’ve done that since being here, I got a message saying I’m all set
up.

I had this issue wifh an old iPhone and took it into Ed shop and they
changed it to 5g. It’s on 5g now so don’t understand it.

Can you try going into Settings > Mobile Data > Network Selection, turn off automatic and manually search, can you choose a different network to see if you can make calls?

Hi, I’ve tried that still getting a message saying number is invalid whsn I
dial.
No problem thankfully I don’t really need to make any calls but it is
really annoyingly
No doubt it’s something simple I haven’t done- not sure what.

The roaming facility is what enables a phone to connect to a foreign network - without it being enabled, you won't get that connection and thus no service abroad.

Texting ROAMING to 150 enables the facility, but if it's not active then you do have a catch-22 situation of having no service abroad with which to send a text or make a call.

Roaming is not a phone setting that you can alter yourself. There is a menu option for data roaming, which just means using mobile data whilst roaming.
