Can receive but not send texts

I am visiting the UK from Canada and got an EE SIM with unlimited UK texts and calls. I can receive texts but not send, no matter what I do. It keeps telling me the number is not formatted correctly. I have changed the formatting of the number multiple times and still nothing. Help! I don't want to have paid £40 and not be able to text my friends and family while I'm here.

For sending texts, check your phone's Messaging app has the Message Centre no. setting for EE as +447958879879.
