Hi. I've arrived in the USA and have no signal. I've restarted my phone several times but nothing. From what I've seen I've got to txt 150 about abroad roaming but I can't as I've no signal. Can't get thru to anyone at EE. This has never happened b4, normally my phone connects automatically when abroad.

Hi @Mrgreenze.

What phone are you using?

Are you able to manually connect to a network within Settings?

Jon

Hi. I'm on Android, Google pixel 4. My roaming is on etc. When I go to settings it says calls n SMS unavailable and won't let me click on it.

Are you on contract or PAYG? Did you use that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?

If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto. Otherwise login to your MyEE account online & go to Menu > Account Settings > Parental and Data Controls > Roaming Abroad and also Call Abroad and Premium Rate. They will show as ticked if roaming and calling abroad is activated. If not ticked, can you activate these settings?

If you can't enable the Roaming Abroad and the Call Abroad & Premium Rate settings of your online MyEE, you will need to call CS. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. via Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

PAYG is auto enabled for roaming as long as you've used the SIM in the UK previously. You won't see any of those settings & don't need to change anything. If outside EU, do you have enough credit for making calls & texts from abroad?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Hi. I'm on a contract, and yes the SIM was used in the UK. Same SIM I've had for years. Always worked abroad b4. ROAMing abroad is enabled.

I've restarted my phone many times. I didn't send the roam code to 150 before I left but Ive never had to before as it's always worked and now I can't as I have no signal.

How can I get a network?

Is roaming enabled in your My EE Account, @Mrgreenze?

Jon

Yes, like I've said roaming is enabled everywhere on my phone and my ee account. It always has been, I've never had a problem before. Now, suddenly, nothing.

Surely someone knows the issue?

I really need a signal to be sorted.

Do you know anyone else on EE who has signal, @Mrgreenze?

Are you able to access network settings?

Jon

I don't know anyone else out here in the USA on ee, I'm just with my family who all have signals on other networks.

Yes I can access network settings. It's says calls and SMS temporarily unavailable.
