5g Northern Ireland

Why is 5g rollout taking so long in Northern Ireland on EE/BT network? My brother is with O2 and has 5g coverage in most of the country while EE/BT 5g is only available in Belfast. I feel I was conned into buying a 5g phone for absolutely no reason.
