My account is with 1P Mobile who use the EE network. My phone stopped recognising my sim on Saturday and now I find out EE is down has been all weekend but didn’t let any of their partner users know so 1P mobile were not aware. Also EE don’t know when they will fix it. Because my mobile is with a partner I can’t log in to get service updates.

Access to the status checker does require an EE mobile number, which is a factor you should bear in mind when using MVNO "piggyback" operators.
Your customer service point of contact is 1p-mobile. If you have a friend or relative who uses EE-direct, you could ask them to register for upates.
