My Place update text alerts

Mdlaw
Visitor

I left EE a few weeks ago, I am still receiving My Place updates by text. When I visit the page to try to unsubscribe it sees my number as invalid, as I am now on a different network.

Can anyone tell me how to unsubscribe from the alerts please?

Hi @julesoutthere

Thanks for coming to the community.

If you still have access to your EE online account, you can enter your post code on the network checker, and then login to your account to remove the My Place updates.

If you aren't able to login you can also call out customer service guides, who can access your account to remove the alerts.

Same problem, how can I unsubscribe? Report as spam and block? Change my email and phone to a dude? Ridiculous that EE don't have an unsubscribe link in their email.

Hi there @StevenJH, I'm sorry to hear you're having some trouble getting this sorted out.

Have you had a chance to check the options @Michael_D shared in his most recent post?

If you continue to struggle with this, our customer care team will absolutely be able to get this sorted for you.

Peter

I am having the same problem with unwanted alerts, having left EE ages ago which begs the question why is my account still  active??!!

STOP texts to 444 (as instructed) don’t work.

Hi @GeoffNM

The notifications service is separate from your account. The messages are sent as you have previously added to the alerts service database.

Please give our Customer Service team a call who'll be able to remove your number from the alerts database.

Customer services (for small business at least) still don’t know about this issue.

I just had a hellish call after being passed from pillar to post, I was told it wasn’t an EE service and was actually 3rd party.

After I insisted and walked him through the website, he accepted it was an EE service and said he’d get my number removed from it.

It was a rather sudden turnaround. So, I’m concerned he was just telling me what I wanted to hear to get me off the phone. We shall see if I continue to receive the notifications.
