Please advise a date when 5G will be available on PAYG. Having been an EE customer for many years I recently purchased a new 5G enabled handset. I am shocked to find out that EE have still not enabled 5G in their PAYG plans. Come on EE, you shouldn't still be trying to force your loyal customers onto monthly contracts. I will give it a another couple of weeks then a move to "1pMobile" will be my solution.

@XiaomiAnnie and what network did your phone display? As EE don’t operate outside the UK so you wasn’t connected to EE.

@XiaomiAnnie It might be for PAYG but people post in threads and think it’s applicable to them when it’s not. In this case it is applicable to you but not everyone pays attention to what forum they are posting in.

The screenshot also shows MCC/MNC of 21407. That's Movistar Spain.
It's evident that in your example, Network Cell Info is picking the "operator" display from the core network not access element.

"Not a good idea. They artificially limit the speed of all data on their network, whether it's 4G or 5G. I wouldn't go with them at all, even if they are using the EE network. EE's 4G network is ridiculously quick, the fastest of all the networks. To be fair, these days 5G is now slower than their 4G, so we're not really missing out on much. I don't know why EE isn't offering 5G, but I wouldn't be bothered about it. Anyway, if it were up to me, you'd go with EE. You can do absolutely everything on 4G that you can on 5G, and it's not like the old days when it was all very slow. If you choose EE, you're going to get a good connection almost everywhere you go."

Why is that a disgrace? 5g was created address congestion issues because you want your phone to download at 10 times the speed 5G isn't always faster than 4G. In fact, a lot of times on E.E and they're 5G Network isn't as quick as their 4G. 5g is literally about addressing congestion and nothing more. Nobody needs 5G unless of course you're using it for mobile broadband and even then EE do not disappoint.

There are plenty of networks, you can be on in the UK where you can roam across all four of the networks. EEsim is one of those. I use them for tracking my motorcycle I've played work across all four networks in the UK and abroad. You don't have to be a different country to roam in the UK. You can't be on a UK Network in Roman in the UK. There are plenty of networks to do it. Even nordvpn do it. They let you roam across. I think two of the four networks in the UK
