5G still not available to PAYG customers !!!

Please advise a date when 5G will be available on PAYG.  Having been an EE customer for many years I recently purchased a new 5G enabled handset.  I am shocked to find out that EE have still not enabled 5G in their PAYG plans.  Come on EE, you shouldn't still be trying to force your loyal customers onto monthly contracts.  I will give it a another couple of weeks then a move to "1pMobile" will be my solution.

Leanne, this is not answering the question. We already knew this. What we want to know is when EE will be rolling out 5G for PAYG customers. You are WAY behind others now!

@Carolc3   You’ll not get a date until EE announce that PAYG will get 5G.   As previously mentioned on this thread what are you expecting 5G to do that 4G cannot do.   I can use 5G but I still use 4G all the time.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

There are areas where Iive that for whatever reason we have a very poor 4G reception but a good 5G reception, no idea why but it is!

This will be a location-specific anomaly due to the carriers in use, it's not a 5G or 4G thing.

At a guess, 5GNR7 has been deployed but not 4G800. It's unusual, as the antenna configs normally support both.

@Carolc3 - I doubt it will be anytime soon. They have only recently rolled out new "subscription packs" with a speed cap of 25 Megabits per second.

Maybe when BT & EE eventually collide together, they might review the PAYG/Subscription packages, who knows. If you want 5G for PAYG, you will probably have to use another provider.

4G is very saturated in many places, London train terminals for example.

@blobman   So will 5G.  Ie every contract customer who’s got a device in the last 3 years will have 5G support on that device.

5G is just a technology, and the solution to radio congestion is to add additional carriers and/or microcells in busy locations.

Those can be 4G or 5G.

EE Community Support Team.

Recently on holiday I got a 5G signal on my mobile phone via the Spanish EE partner provider and it was great.

Update please of date for PAYG 5g support in UK.

Hello @XiaomiAnnie

I'm sorry, I don't currently have any more information regarding pay as you go 5G.
