Hotspot not working with ps portal

My WiFi and friends hotspots (02 and giffgaff) work fine with the portal and we all have iPhones. On another forum somebody suggested downloading an ee APN IPV4 from GitHub which I did. It now lets me connect my hotspot but I now get an error when trying to connect to my ps5 with the portal (sorry, but something went wrong)

It will never work using EE?

I gave up trying to hotspot off my phone. But have you tried VPN route

I don't think the carrier will provide a public or private IP address for you to use so I would try the VPN route. I did run into some issues with VPN on my normal ISP it managed to change my NAT 2 back into NAT 3 so you might need to do your research regarding best NAT 2 enabled service.

Hope this puts you on a better path in finding a work around to the restrictions put in place by EE

It all seems ALOT of hard work for something that should be quite straight forward 🤷🏻‍♂️.

If you gave up in the end, how did you get around it during travel? 
At home and final destination wont be an issue

just wondering if you’ve managed to solve this issue ? I’m having the same problem.

A checked with two colleagues who have data plans with 3 and ID mobile and the portal works fine. Myself and another on EE can’t get it to connect.

I have absolutely no luck trying to connect my Portal to the EE hotspot I have an Iphone 16.

I had the same issue.  Rather than automatically connecting WiFi try manual setup.

The reason why auto does not work is because the PS portal does not accept IPV6.  IPV4 settings are required.

Security Method WPA3 Personal

Use IP Address 172.20.10.5

Gateway 172.20.10.1

Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

DNS 172.20.10.1

max compatibility- OFF

Use Proxy - No/off
