Download and install the VPN software on your Windows PC.
Connect your PS4 to your PC with the ethernet cable.
Open the Control Panel in Windows and navigate to the Network and Sharing Center.
Click on Change Adaptor Settings in the left sidebar.
Right-click on your VPN connection (the one installed on your PC), click Properties > Sharing.
Tick the box that says: Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection.
Locate the Home networking connection drop-down menu and select your ethernet connection.
Connect to the VPN server you require by using the VPN client on your PC.
Boot up your PS4.
On the main menu screen click on Settings > Network Settings.
Under Network Settings select Set up Internet Connection.
Select Use a LAN Cable when you are prompted.
Select Easy for the connection method and confirm Do Not Use a Proxy Server when asked.
Accept these settings and click Test Connection to ensure it works correctly.

Sorry I forgot to also mention, I always have a strict NAT on my gaming PC, really restricts my ping potential as I have around a 70mbps speed. Is there a way using my Surfshark VPN that I can get my NAT type to moderate?
Would be an absolute life saver.

Jack

Hi mate, trying the VPNS now I’m based in Scotland so I’m using the Glasgow VPN and also tried a French one to see if a different nation would work but my PING is still in the high 90’s which isn’t ideal!
any suggestions? Sorry for the inconvenience.
Regards,
Jack

Hi Dean,
I've read through so many of these topics and different pages past week or so but I still can't get the nat type to change.
I am using a PS5 and a 4gEE router as that is all I can get in my property and area, can you dumb this down for me what I need to do.
Do I need a different router, laptop access, what exactly should I be doing as otherwise I'm just going to have to cancel the contract as I wasn't told this would be a problem despite making it clear this was one of the reasons for the router in the first place.
Thanks in advance
