Today I get my EE 5G Smart Hub and I'm disappointed. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but this is not what I expected.
I get 4 bars 5G signal here in Bayswater, London but the speeds 6-20 Mb/s. Only when I first turn it on It was 100Mb/s for about 20 seconds. So Am I doing something wrong or 5G is the same as 4G or worse?

Hi @Prorok7
Where do you have the router located. Try moving it nearer to a window.
If you live in a flat are you low level bottom or higher in the building.
Thanks

Hey there @Prorok7.
Welcome to the EE Community, and I'm disappointed to hear that your 5G Smart Hub hasn't been working quite as expected.
Have you tried plugging this in elsewhere in your property to see if there's an improvement in the speeds?
It's worth taking a look at our network status checker too, as this should highlight if there's anything going on locally that could be impacting your speeds.

Router is on the window, 1st floor flat. This is the best location I could find, showing 4 bars 5g. It was working good for a few days, but today it was disaster.
Funny thing is on the smartphone with EE payg card with 4g it was working much better.

Hi there @Prorok7
Thanks for coming back to us.
Have you been able to check the network status checker?
If you can enter the postcode, this will show any reported service issues in the area. If nothing is showing you can report the problems you are experiencing and the network team will get this looked into.
Leanne.

I check it, but it shows mobile service problem everyday so I don't know if it's true and the smarthphone payg service is normal, actually better than 5g in the evening. 5g is good until like 12pm then it slowly getting worse. In the evening it's like on the screenshoot 2mb/s. I think something in bayswater is using 5g an it's not enought to share. Maybe more masts are nedeed in this area?

A bit of extra capacity, by the sounds. That can be done using existing sites too.
Try swapping SIMs between your router & phone, and re-test mobile data performance. That will rule out an account-specific issue.

Well my HG20 or whatever it is from EE is rubbish also. It constantly hanges from 5G full signal at high speed to a rubbish 4g which has a worse signal ! yes reboot often helps, sometimes swap between manual and auto then it magically changes back to full signal on 5G !! it's the router at fault, tried a 5 year old Zte 501 and it stayed connected. so buy a new router and ditch EE's

It's not router in my case because in the mornings it's actually very good, but afternoon it's starting slowing down, and evenings are the worst (not always). I think it's either ee throttling or something is using 5G in the area. Anyway I'm paying 50£ for something that's worth max 20-30. As i'm writing this post I couldn't even load the forum it's so slow now.

Hi @Prorok7
Have you tried restarting the router? How long has it been like this?
If you search the status of your postcode on our network status checker, does it say if there are any maintenance works in your area?
Chris
