Been with EE for my last 3 phones(6 years), upgraded either directly with ee or through a third party website as new customer.
Their network don’t seem to be on any comparison deal sites or third party sale sites any more. Went on to ee shop to upgrade but it seems extortionate now. Even tried new customer and couldn’t believe how much the new iPhone 13 mini is monthly.
EE are selling the iPhone 13 mini at £61 a month and that’s minimum data (2gb). Through third party websites you can get the iPhone 13 mini with pretty much every other company starting from £30 with 100gb data. So obviously I’ll be leaving but why aren’t they competing to get customers, it’s double the money. Nobody on live chat wanted to help either. What’s happened with EE, why are they driving customers away old and new?

Utter crap! A pixel 7 is more expensive than a pixel 8 on both a 36 and 24 month contract. Just about every other mobile network offers 24month contracts at vastly cheaper tarrifs. I've been with EE for 8 years my contract is up and I'm out. I don't mind paying a little extra but I'm not getting ripped off in a saturated market. Loyalty used to matter ee couldn't give a toss!

I have a similar question about why EE is so expensive (your sim only for 25gb is £27/month! other providers offer as low as £10/month for 50gb!). As my contract with EE is ending soon, I got a text message offering me a cheap deal for sim only, then I called your 150 as instructed but the agent was not very helpful at all and did not even offer to find me a good deal. Your autobot seems to have more sympathy and regret over me leaving EE (I've been with you over the last 6 years). Such a shame.

@AndreaMartinez so what’s this then.
Login to your account and select upgrade and see what’s available for sim only.

This is the main reason I will NEVER join EE!

@bulldog147 What’s the reason? You don’t say and I’ve clearly proven @AndreaMartinez wrong with her upgrade options. So upgrade options don’t apply to you as you are not an EE customer.

Iv been with EE since I was 18 (now 25) I currently pay £98 I don’t even know why. I have iPhone 14 plus, my bill was around £69 when I first renewed my contract.
im looking to upgrade now and there’s nothing for less than £95 PM. With £50-£100 upfrontAnd that’s with trading my current phone? I shouldn’t have to trade in my phone as iv paid for the device.
signal on EE is shocking I went to France and didn’t have any service the whole week and my 5G only works in certain areas of my house. Also who cares about visual voicemail?
while sky and many more contracts are £45-£70 depending on 24month or 36month. With £0 upfront.
EE does not offer superior service, their just greedy iv paid nearly £2000 over 24months for a phone that cost £799

It's because you're likely on a 24-Month All Rounder or Full Works plan and those benefits cost extra, and the upgrade you're looking at is using "Upgrade Anytime" to upgrade early without having to pay the rest of the contract off. The terms of this are that you maintain a similar or higher cost and trade in your device.
If you wait until the last 30 days of your contract you will be able to choose any plan you like and won't have to trade in your device either.
It will certainly be less than you're seeing now. Certain plans cost more than others and comparing just a monthly cost to what someone else pays does not take into account the level of service/kind of package each person is paying for.
Alternatively you can call EE on 150 and see how much it would be to pay to early upgrade and go onto a lower cost plan. This will depend how long is left in your contract.
