TEAMS and WhatsApps Call Dropping

philnic100

Just moved from BT BBand to EE; complications with Ring which Ive nearly sorted and now discovered that Im hanging in TEAMS calls and suffering breakup in WhatsApp calls. I consider myself IT literate and have not had this amount of grief with any other provider. I have fullfibre and work from home, no other devices connecting at the time other than my wife on her IPhone. From what Ive seen , Im not alone ; is there some covert default setting or parameter that is causing this?

I have an EE WIFI extender and EE Smart Hub Plus.

I use Teams / Zoom and WhatsApp for conference calls extensively

The only one I have an issue with is New Teams which freezes for around 5 seconds regularly.

Myself and colleagues have come to the conclusion that this is a Teams bug as we are all experiencing it.

@Ewan15 Has your system all settled down now, at one point it was all over the ship per your postings.

Hi Jim

I still have an non existent Order Pending on the EE App.

Overall I have not experienced the issues with the EE SH+ that other customers have. Maybe that is because I stayed with the BT SH2 initially, before moving to the EE router after a couple of weeks.

The BTW Performance tester only gives sensible results after I reboot the router then over time it starts to give inaccurate results. I have not found my usable internet to have been affected, nor my wireless range, if anything it is better. (No router location changes).  My wireless speed has increased to match at least my guaranteed speed and more often than not it is close to my package speed despite having around 10 devices connected and in use at the same time.

I am surprised that the router can affect the BTW Performance result. Cloudfare, OVH Cloud, think broadband, and Ookla  all give the speeds I expect.

@Ewan15 Know you added the smart wireless by your self, finding it ok, wired or wireless backhaul to the unit, got a reasonable handle on how your performance was going up/down and all over, no idea about the BTW, is weird though! Thanks for posting back.
