TEAMS and WhatsApps Call Dropping

Just moved from BT BBand to EE; complications with Ring which Ive nearly sorted and now discovered that Im hanging in TEAMS calls and suffering breakup in WhatsApp calls. I consider myself IT literate and have not had this amount of grief with any other provider. I have fullfibre and work from home, no other devices connecting at the time other than my wife on her IPhone. From what Ive seen , Im not alone ; is there some covert default setting or parameter that is causing this?

Not aware of any specific settings. What hub are you using, and what device(s) are you joining Whatsapp/Teams calls from?

Smart Hub Plus with Smart Wifi Plus Extender; accessing via Windows 10 Professional laptop .

Issue also occurs if joining TEAMS call via IPad.

@philnic100 Any possibility of doing Ethernet connected on Laptop if it has a nic port to rule out wireless per chance. Know it's a pain, direct connection to router best, if it works then next onto the extender nic port after that. If laptop does not have ethernet then post back, IPad not likely unless you have some extra equipment! If all wireless possibility of turning of the extender to test?

Will be doing that as soon as herself heads off tomorrow  as that could cause further disruption, will advise back. Good steer.

Do the calls recover, or do they drop out entirely, and have you noticed the devices' Wi-Fi connection drop or 'move about' when it happens?

I wonder if they're maybe in an area where the devices are conflicted about whether or not to connect to your hub or the extender and are flip-flopping between the two? In principal, shouldn't cause too many noticable problems, but if it is happening, then maybe the situation would improve with a spot of device (read: extender) relocation?

The calls freeze for about 5 seconds, then recover; TEAMS also complains of poor network quality....

With you on that one for sure. Nothing worse than the wrath of the better half when the Internet is not working good. Process of elimination and if you still have all the BT router/extenders do not rush to post anything back.

Too late on that front, they went back as I was persevering with an issue since changeover a month ago; normally its a case of the connection settling down , but not in this case.

@philnic100 So from this side of the perspective, wife is an avid whatsapp user, does not even use anything else, she makes hour long phone calls etc, and if it was a problem then she would be all over me for sure, do not use teams so cannot comment, and Asus AI mesh in use with the EE Smarthub+ primary router. Do suspect that the EE smart wireless may possibly be the problem, but process of elimination. Looks like you know how to attack it..

And wi-fi enhancer reported to be a big issue if you happen to have that, just remembered that!
