This morning there is new Pro router firmware r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and it starts by saying use HTTPS which is then says is not available. It then requires the admin password to get into any level of access. Now testing out what it does.

It allows you to set your own DNS servers in DHCP.

It still does not let you lock the 2.4G WiFi to a channel, it keeps reverting to Channel 11

Mine has no problem with 100+ ethernet connections but that is easy as it is just acting as a switch. It is the many WiFi connections where it always falls over.

Just to update anyone who may be interested, yesterday EE's tech team spent some time trying various firmware versions on my hub.

I haven't been given the details but from doing this they found an issue with the latest firmware and have fixed it, so I'm now successfully running on r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1.

It's taken a while but I'm now getting 2.1gb download and 120-140mb upload on a wired connection. I've agreed with EE that we'll monitor it over the next week but fingers crossed it's sorted!

I am confused, the latest firmware is r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1, so if they have found a problem in it and fixed it, have they not updated the version number?

Also what EE service is giving 2.1Gb/s download?

My experience with this new firmware for the Hub has been fairly brief, but what I have noticed is that there were a lot of strange routing issues after it was applied.

The short story is that I have not found any real level of stability until I did a full factory reset of the hub and my extenders. Once I reset everything and re-paired the EE app to my router, so far things have settled down.

So my issue is still being looked at but they rolled out a fix to my hub and things have been rock solid since, the firmware version hasn't changed but I think that's to be expected as (as far as I'm aware) it hasn't be rolled out en masse.

As of Tuesday this week EE and Openreach are still looking at the issue and monitoring my connection, I'm expecting another update next Wednesday.

I'm also on the 1.6 service but when I use a speed.pngwired connection I get a speed of between 1.8 and 2.1 down and 120-140 up.

I would very much doubt that you are on a newer version of the firmware, given the firmware version you have is identical to everyone else with this router.
