This morning there is new Pro router firmware r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and it starts by saying use HTTPS which is then says is not available. It then requires the admin password to get into any level of access. Now testing out what it does.

It allows you to set your own DNS servers in DHCP.

It still does not let you lock the 2.4G WiFi to a channel, it keeps reverting to Channel 11

@PortableFrank Sounds like you have a wi-fi device on the network that may not be playing nicely once that Pro is upgraded to the latest FW, would be an idea to switch all of them off, and bring onstream one at a time with an extended time between to see if your upload works as expected! May also be an Ethernet connection especially if you have a sky Q box connected!

Is this post, and the subsequent reporting of errors in relation to the white wifi 7 Pro hub or the black Smart hub plus?

i was thinking if upgrading to the white Pro wifi 7 with wifi Plus but if its the nightmare experienced by other users here i will stick with the functioning setup i already have

@Bullstein : This thread is in relation to & is entitled "New Pro Firmware r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 for router and extenders". That is the white router!

The EE Smart WiFi Plus doesn't go with the white EE Smart Hub Pro.

I know, I was thinking of upgrading to the smart hub plus. Wifi 7 hub

@Bullstein : I'm not sure you do know. The Smart Hub Plus is WiFi6, not WiFi7!

No WiFi devices connected, sadly! I turned WiFi off entirely and just had my laptop connected to the hub via ethernet - good suggestion though!

So I've been using a third party router for some time due to all the issues, is it worth giving the smart hub pro another test. Or best just staying with my third party one.

I had multiple issues initially following the firmware update. Eventually I managed to get all of the issues resolved by firstly doing a factory reset of both the hub and the extender. Once all was up and running again I then did a reboot of the the WiFI 7 Pro Hub using the App which did take a while to complete but since then, touch wood, it's been working like a champ.

I had no issues at all with my pro hub, 2 extenders and hybrid connect. All updated a few weeks ago and all working perfectly with 50+ devices, wireless and ethernet including Apple devices/camera’s etc. one extender is wired the other is wireless. Both are working perfectly with no speed issues.

Didn’t have to do a factory reset but if you are having issues, you may want to consider a factory reset and setup once everything has been updated to the latest firmware. Sometimes this can clear out any previous bugs..
