How does EE suck so bad when BT was great....?

How can EE screw up the technology so badly that their service sucks? We had 1-2 cut outs in 5 years with BT and it was normally around 3 in the morning which we put down to scheduled restarts.

Now we are cutting out at least once a day and it is becoming infuriating because they are using BT's line so it is an issue with their router / hardware. We swapped over in November from BT's hardware and ever since then it has been a disaster...so how can a company completely ruin a service with crappy hardware? We are definitely switching provider when our contract is up because this is similar to early 2000's internet in terms of reliability.

Will I never learn?  With BT I had Norton included, with EE you have to pay £5 a month. So I subscribed to EE Cyber Security on 24th June and received an email with a link to 'activate cyber security multi'.  You'd expect this link to take you to a screen to 'activate' cyber security. WRONG! It just takes you to your EE Account log in where you are left to work out for yourself what to do.

Undaunted, I found the 'Manage Cyber Security' option and selected it. Low and behold it tells me there is 'no subscription associated with this account'.  So another call to 150. And another, and another over the course of NINE days and still the same message.

The final insult today was to be told to give it another FIVE days as it has been referred to a 'specialist team'. So I'm paying, yet again, for a service I am not getting because of the, (and there is no other word to describe it) 'incompetence' of EE.

The one important clock that is ticking as far as I am concerned, is the one counting down to when I can ditch EE.

How on earth can they claim to be the best mobile network ELEVEN years in a row. Who's voting? EE management?

@bigsteve47 Time to web interface and go have a look at what the router is doing!

What are the symptoms when the line 'cuts out'? e.g. any change to the LEDs on the EE hub/Openreach ONT? Is it just a Wi-Fi issue, or is the Internet connection itself going down?
