How does EE suck so bad when BT was great....?

How can EE screw up the technology so badly that their service sucks? We had 1-2 cut outs in 5 years with BT and it was normally around 3 in the morning which we put down to scheduled restarts.

Now we are cutting out at least once a day and it is becoming infuriating because they are using BT's line so it is an issue with their router / hardware. We swapped over in November from BT's hardware and ever since then it has been a disaster...so how can a company completely ruin a service with crappy hardware? We are definitely switching provider when our contract is up because this is similar to early 2000's internet in terms of reliability.

@bigsteve47 You must have a landline phone then or you would have ditched the EE Router.

yes.. agree. with BT for years, odd issue.   Immediately on EE problems.

Concur - suffered with this over a year now - had the wifi 7 router and boosters, junk. purchased eero 6e, still have zoom drop out issues when two computers on zoom at the same time. Can't wait to end the contract. About to get a virgin line installed in the house as a second connection as can't put up with it any longer. Zoom blames EE, EE not interested. Posted repeatedly about this over last 12 months, everything else fine just the Zoom screw ups spoil everything.

Are you using the smart hub pro or which router? I also have the eero pro (wifi 5 version)..one thing I personally overlooked was disabling wifi on my EE router once I had setup the network name and password I wanted and that seems to have solved some issues for me.

Eero 6e direct into ONT box..does that make sense?

I had the same problems with the EE kit.. hard wiring was all EE would suggest and customer service got quite grumpy when I said it was fine with BT!!   I hard wired to the router and it didn't solve the problem!

I eventually bought a Deco X55 which has mainly sorted the problem.. zoom still struggles when I share a video but I can live without it.. )I did it all the time when in BT!! )

I got the smart hub pro from 3bay in hopes it'd be better...first day seemed good, no dropouts no issues, felt like I was back using BT hardware..day two 9pm, internet down while several people watching tv, using computers etc..absolute disgrace

Not quite the same problem, but I was with BT for years, made the switch last April and within 3 months a scammer had found what was my ex-directory number and started pestering me, and because of that he also found my O2 mobile number.  As that was a backup number.
So EE systems aren’t very secure, to being hacked.

Forgot to add the hybrid connect.......set-up, marked as "ready" and good signal, did not kick in or work when the internet went down so another disaster by EE but unsurprising after spending half an hour reading this forum

Agreed, an absolute disgrace! Open fault ongoing since 16 December and assistance keep closing tickets and moving the fix date week after week.
Also no alternative provided such as the mini hub that BT used to send after 1 day!

cannot wait to change provider too
