EE Broadband APP WifI Controls not working

Mart30
Explorer

I have recently signed up to EE Broadband.   My broadband is working fine, however the APP WiFi controls feature and the Wifi enhancer are not available on the app or via the website.   An error message appears and states it is a problem with EE.  I  have spoken with the technical team at EE on two occasions and they have recommended i reinstall the APP and restart the router.  I have now done this many times and the APP features are still not working.   This is very very VERY frustrating!    I am going in circles with the EE technical team and it is not clear how or if this will be resolved.  EE is not living up to expectations.  If there is an issue, i would prefer EE acknowledge the fault and advise when it will be fixed rather than directing me to do the same thing over and over again (i.e reinstall the app).   Can anybody help?   Is this new feature just a myth?

Hi, Fortunately everything all seems to be working both with my WiFi and
phone app. Not sure why you are still having issues, as mine has been OK
for a while now? I don't know why EE are not sorting yours out, but it did
take months for mine to work after constant phone calls and system resets.

Yes mate they had to do an account merge and it kinda helped but for features like the enhancer it’ll say there’s an external error

Me too. I’m wondering if it’s to do with the fact that the app suggested keeping my old WiFi hub name and password. I think I could access WiFi boost before I did this.

@Remoteworker : Then put them back to agree with those on the router's slider & see what happens.

How?

@Remoteworker : Login to your EE SH/SR at http://192.168.1.254 with the admin password on the bottom of the slider label on the back of the router. Then on the Advanced > Advanced WiFi page you should be able to see your WiFi SSID & password in clear & change them if you like.

I was moved to EE from BT broadband where I could manage all my broadband settings, now when ever I click broadband in the ee app, it just spins!

ee is a terrible service and many people will eventually leave, including myself.

reading this forum looks like the issue is data related when they moved BT customers to ee.

Not many customers use these features, so they won’t really investigate or fix the issue.

our best option is to complain, ask for a break of contract and find another provider.

it’s a sad time as BT was a high quality service for many years and then gos know why they purchased a failing company EE and ruined their brand.

THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS ISSUE AS OF JULY 2024.

Hi @John-C,

I am having the same issue. This is very frustrating. Please help me! Thanks.

Hi John-C,

I am not seeing the wifi controls option on my app either. Where do I go from here as its crucial that I control my children's access to games etc.
