Hi
I have just started home phone, with phones plugged directly into the phone-router socket. (Know bug with print adaptor, menu systems dont work, ie.. press 2 for sales, press 3 for repair etc So cant use wireless phone adaptor ).
There are three phones. As my tee adaptor is horizontal, I have short old, working, vertical, line filter between router and tee adaptor. The tee adaptor gives two lines out and on of these two lines is attached to is a wireless phone (2 phones bt4600). Other line has very old analogue phone.
At times the analog phone has to have the volume button turned right down to 1. Even thats not low enough for my user here. Holding phone about foot away from ear.
Normally folk complain its too quiet!!!
Some calls are normal volume.
Cant see any setting for this other than the external button with vol control.
Any suggestions?

@alan2012c There is no control over the volume to a particular handset via anything that the router can do, so it's all down to the handset itself, completely understand the DVA for the button press option, but have you tried it to see if it can tone the volume down on that older handset. copy of link from the Digital Phone section you can see if any of it helps, link below.

Or retire the old handset, link also but just look at the additional handset as it should be just that.

Hello,
Thanks for thoughtful reply.
Well, I thought I ought to try something, so we had bt4600 plugged in directly to router printer port. No older phone, Still had lounder volume.
One phone call from 4600 by address book then "N", 3 down arrows, had loud volume, user says 3 blobs came up, increasing from vol 1 to vol 3.
moments later call dropped. User redialed and all well.
Interesting!
Perhaps a bug, perhaps finger trouble.

I’ve seen this with someone else on the BT forum. Might be the same.
Some phones have an ‘answer on pickup’ option. This means that as soon as you pick up the DECT handset, it answers the call.
If you are ‘then’ pressing the green button to answer the call, what you are actually doing is turning on Speaker Phone.
Instead of looking around for the setting, just answer the phone next time it rings just by picking it up and see if that actually connects you at normal volume or not.
