Hello,
I have pre-ordered an iphone 12 pro, which should come on Friday. I currently have this down to be delivered to my mothers address as I will be at work (and didn't want to risk taking a day off for it not to arrive anyway... as I expect it might not).
I have seen other people mention they need to be in / have ID to accept delivery, however nothing stated this when I ordered the phone. Is the 100% the case all the time?
If so - is leaving my ID with her a possiblity?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

As far as I’m aware and with my experience of receiving phones from EE you do need to show photo ID and I think you do need to be there personally so the photo ID matches your face , although that’s my own personal experience , others my have different experiences

@kaisah16 , as @Chris_B has mentioned to you in another thread you wrote, the phone will only be delivered to your billing address, and if someone else is there with the same surname as yours, they will need to have an ID, you cannot just leave your ID there without being there.

Thanks for the comment.
Is this a recent thing then? As my iPhone X was delivered to a different address back on release, as well as my partners iPhone 11 last year. Neither of these occasions was ID asked for, just a signature.
Also when ordering this one it did specifically ask for a billing/delivery address and allowed them to be separate. Surely it should state this at point of order?
I seem to be finding conflicting info in other threads 😥 Hoping this is clearly laid out somewhere.

@kaisah16 , you can always ring customer service and check with them, I can only go by what has been said, you may find they will deliver to a different address than the billing one, but then the ID would needed as proof. Can you not choose a different date or time for delivery.

@kaisah16 , thank you for coming back with an update, that is good news, this is very helpful for anyone needing an answer. I thought it would have to be someone with the same surname and having ID to to receive the phone, hope you enjoy your new phone, I am now waiting for the pre-order of the Max Pro on the 6th November!

Did they say they would delivery on Friday? I’ve booked a day off for my pro 🙂
