i had my phone reset by ee store last week. today the device asked me to restart for, i
think updates, which i did. the phone restarted but now is locked and asking for a pin code for the sim. i have tried 1111 and my old phone code but am now left with one try

It will be the pin you set to secure your device. If locked you will need another code to unlock your SIM.

You'll find the PUK, to unblock your SIM after too many incorrect PIN attempts, in your online MyEE under Account Settings / Unlock your SIM.
