Hi im moving to London and I need a phone i am not sure how i can get a sim card to the flat im moving in, i do not have an uk number only my american one and when i tried to purchase the sim it wont allow me to add my actual number how can i purchase a sim?

Welcome to the community.

Are you looking for a pay as you go SIM card or a pay monthly contract one?

You won't be able to use your US telephone number on one of our SIM cards, you'll be given a new UK mobile number with the new SIM.

I am looking to pay for a -pay as you go- sim because i won't be staying in the UK for longer than 5 months, and I'm not sure that I can get a contract for 5 months?  so i thought my best bet was to just get the pay as you go one, I need the sim to arrive at my flat so by the day I arrive from another country I can have a UK mobile number, but when I was trying to purchase the sim it asked me for my number so now i'm not sure how i can buy the sim online?

Is it this pay as you go SIM page that you're trying to order from?

Could you try filling in the form without putting a phone number in please?

Don't worry 🙂

You can check out the pay as you go SIMs with packs online.

Do you know from your current phone usage how much data you use? This is really all you would need to choose all plans come with unlimited calls and texts.

If you are not sure how much you currently use, or will be using in the UK, you can order a Free SIM now and at any time you can chose to add a pack that will give you a bundle over the month.

You can complete the order form without adding in a mobile number. As long as you have your full UK address you can complete this online.

thank you for the help i have done all you guys told me and when i clicked on the "send me my free sim" it took me to another page that says " 

WE'RE JUST MAKING SOME CHANGES Looking for help? We have plenty to hand

so im not sure if i did something wrong? i came back to your answer and click on the link you provided and it took me to this same page of "we're just making some changes" https://shop.ee.co.uk/authorize/login so now i have no clue if i will get the sim? 😓

is this normal?

Could you try clearing your cache and cookies then try again?

If this still doesn't work, can you try a different browser?
