Top up on iphone

I have upgraded from PAYG to contract, my mobile number has changed but my SIM doesn't appear to have been updated. I've turned the phone off several times - any suggestions?  Or should I be expecting a new SIM in the post??

Send old phone in under trade in last Wednesday
