Hi EE technical members, I'm new to the EE network.
I have a Poco x3 phone, I've noticed when I'm on a voice call my data connection is terminated.
It doesn't matter what area of London I'm in, my signal strength bars show a good strength.
While on a voice call I only see the signal strength bars , the small 4G + icon disappears.
I do have the VoLTE setting turned on for the EE sim, so could it be because this is turned on?
Is there a way to be on a voice call while still being able to use data?
I have seen many posts with this query, but none of the replies have been very helpful in resolving, or pointing to a solution.
Thanks for any help from those who know, or the EE tech admin support help

Hi @liviococcia and welcome to the community
Are you with EE on PAYG or a pay-monthly contract?
The 4G-calling (VoLTE) facility is currently only available to pay-monthly customers.
PAYG customers will currently use the 2G & 3G networks for all voice calls.

The phone you've mentioned isn't one that EE sell on pay-monthly, so there's no guarantee that services such as VoLTE (4G-calling) or VoWiFi (Wi-Fi calling) will work.
I can only suggest trying your SIM in a supported & compatible EE device to make sure your account is configured correctly.
If you're able to make voice calls, then this demonstrates that the 2G/3G fallback (CSFB) required for non-VoLTE devices is working as intended.

Hi, thanks sorry for the slow reply, I haven't tried using my EE data connection while VoLTE is off, while at the same time being on a call, so maybe I'll give that a go.
I just didn't want to interfear with any advantageous EE function settings, it's been a long time since being able to have the luxury of making clear calls, and receiving calls that don't drop, like I'd been suffering from my previous mobile network provider.
I'd probably leave the VoLTE setting to 'on' anyway, even if I could get on the net with the setting 'off', it's just good to have solid call quality.
Thanks for your help.
