Upgraded keeping number but being sent new sim

Hi,

 

yesterday I upgraded from an IPhone XR to an IPhone 12 but I’m keeping my number, I’ve just received a message from 150 that I’ve been sent a new sim, do I need to use the sim in my current IPhone XR or the new one being sent to me as when I upgraded it said that I shouldn’t be sent a new sim so I’m just looking for clarification

Continue using the old SIM, if it fits. A new SIM is sent out just in case.
