I upgraded my phone on the 5th march in a we store for a pre order Samsung s20 ultra and have heard nothing at all since. My current phone battery is failing rapidly.

i know there is a pandemic going on but what’s annoying me is why haven’t I heard anything at all about my order

@rhiang1984 Fabulous! Now it is over to EE.....

I pre ordered on the 28th February, I expect mine to be delivered personally, observing social distancing by EE themselves lol 😁

Here is something I'm not sure what to think about.

https://www.samsung.com/uk/galaxy-watch-offer/

Check out the small lettered bit under claim a Galaxy watch active specifically mentioning EE. Kinda looks to me Samsung and EE has a seriously bad relationship right now. Not sure what that means to our phone deliveries

To anyone thinking of getting the official Samsung protective standing cover, the design has changed since the Note 10+...

The Note 10+ had rubber on the sides, top and bottom... With matte black plastic on the back...

The S20 Ultra has rubber on the sides and glossy plastic on the back, top and bottom.

Just thought I would let you know, in case it effects your purchasing decisions, as it would of effected mine... If I knew about it before it arrived yesterday 😅

Well spotted, @WynterB.

This is quite strange,.

Yeah @WynterB I seen that the other day, but could be taken multiple ways...

1) they still have a current running offer for EE customers for the pre-order buds...

Or...

2) they got fed up of EE customers contacting them about the S20 Ultra 512GB 😅

Personally I think it could be both, but it's not unusual for any company to not do another offer for a product, until the previous one has ended (which for EE, that can't happen till all EE preorders are fulfilled or changed)

Got to say I'm not the least bit impressed with the S20 Ultra battery life...

Even with optimised battery power plan set in options, and leaving the phone on a table with the "always on display" display on...

Battery drain is as follows compared to Note 10+ with same settings...

At 80% = (Note10+) 60% = (S20 Ultra)

60% = (Note10+) 36% = (S20 Ultra)

This is with the phones left idle, with always on display running...

Gonna test again with 120hz mode turned off, to see if that's what's causing it but honestly if it is... That's a big bug, because it shouldn't refresh the AoD at 120hz 🤦🏻‍♂️

@Staffie85 Something could be wrong with your unit. I'll test that tonight.

I don't use always on display (just for charging) but idle is pretty good, especially compared to my oneplus 7 pro 5g.

Cheers @77cats would really appreciate that, as you usually expect power efficiency to increase with a new SoC, or at worst stay comparable... Not get worse.

That was with a clean set-up as well, I never restore or transfer apps/backups between phones, so that can't be causing it.

@77cats how long did it take for you to receive your free Buds+ from Samsung saying your claim had been validated and sent for fulfillment?

Yeah the battery life and charging was nowhere near as impressive on my 7 Pro 5G, compared to my Mate 20 Pro, that thing was a beast for battery life and charging.

Even using the official Samsung 45w charger, it still is a fraction slower but I put that down to differences in battery sizes.

Samsung has the 512Gb in stock now will EE Be getting their stock ?
