I upgraded my phone on the 5th march in a we store for a pre order Samsung s20 ultra and have heard nothing at all since. My current phone battery is failing rapidly.

i know there is a pandemic going on but what’s annoying me is why haven’t I heard anything at all about my order

@JackJack94 That is why some of us have decided to downgrade our preorder to end the frustration of the waiting with no information.

In the end, if you can live with using a memory card instead of the main storage and 25% less RAM, the downgrade isn't the worse option.

Edit - sorry keyboard was acting up (doubling words swiped) and I was in rush. Typos fixed.

Same @JackJack94 February pre-order for me too...

Yeah it's not the worst option @77cats even tho we shouldn't have to resort to that option...

Still waiting to see if they have messed up my plans changing all this, just want some closure to all this hassle now, so hope it ain't messed anything up.

Definitely just going to go sim only after this, so don't ever have this hassle ever again.

Same here. I was sim only (£18 a month for unlimited 4G data, 30 days rolling contract) before I moved back to EE for the 5G - which was supposed to have been installed in my town by the end of last year but still is months away.

In 24 months, 5G should be better implemented and sim only offers available.

They have already been doing 5G SIM-only plans for a while now...

I had one for another line to use on a 5G device I had early upgraded, as I have access to 5G in my area.

Not sure so can't comment if they have unlimited 5G SIM-only plans or if that's limited to plans with a handset but do know they did at least 100GB plans when I had mine.

Today's live chat snippets from EE!

Well again I wouldn't know about the call back. You call give us a call and ask to speak to a manager about this. But to be totally fair, If we had your phone we would provide it to you right away. Like I said before, I would the say the delay comes down to high demand coupled with current events affecting manufacturing and delivery of the product. If this was myself, I wouldn't call this poor service on EE part. We doing everything we can to get you the phone as quick as possible.

I would agree with you there if that is the case that it is still being advertised until normal pretense that it should be removed or a disclaimer on the site for that phone 100%.

I understand where you are coming from. The best thing I can say is that anyone who orders will be delayed for the same way you have and that any phone that we get in stock will be sent to the people who ordered first. Anything beyond that is out if our control. We don't control what appears on the website.

Make of this what you will!

Looks like you might have to just take the 128GB model too @MissRoseGold

I did with mine yesterday and it just arrived now in Black (prefer that to the grey only of the 512GB).

Gutted I've had to do it but doesn't look like we will be getting the 512GB any time soon, do wish they did the blue version in the Ultra tho but oh well.

@Staffie85

I am SO close to downgrading, it's absolutely beyond the joke now.

Are you able to claim the ear buds?

I complained and got some money back

Seen them is Wish for £20

Hi Guys,

I am running out of avenues to explore and I can never seem to get through the phone lines for assistance (which I do appreciate considering the current circumstances).

I pre-ordered the Samsung S20 Ultra 5G Space Grey on the 8th March. It was never ready for the release date due to stock issues which is understandable but I was told it would be a week or two longer. Tracking the order status online, I can see it had frequent updates up until the 12th April where it has been hanging on "Great news. Your order is almost ready" with an expected delivery date of "Awaiting confirmation".

I am lost at what to do and with zero communication from EE I am unsure of the next steps.

Also I pre-ordered under the assumption that I would receive the free earbuds. Please say that offer is still applicable for me?

I appreciate any support you are able to give me. More than happy to provide any further details if required.

Cheers

Jordan
