I upgraded my phone on the 5th march in a we store for a pre order Samsung s20 ultra and have heard nothing at all since. My current phone battery is failing rapidly.
i know there is a pandemic going on but what’s annoying me is why haven’t I heard anything at all about my order

Having just spoken with someone at EE, I've just been informed that there are no Samsung s20 ultras in the country to send out. Apparently the Samsung warehouse only had around 300 handsets in stock and there were in the region of 300,000 preorders. They said they cannot give a timeframe, it could be one week, it could be 3, but due to this Corona virus causing issues with deliveries from China, it could be anytime never.
So if you already have your handset, you are lucky, if not, don't expect it tomorrow or anytime soon 😒

I think I am just going to cancel mine and wait for a good few months until it becomes cheaper and there is less demand aswell as this corona virus being over and done with. I would rather care about the current situation and my health than a phone that I can get at any time 🙂

😒 if I dont get my phone tomorrow I'm going to be fuming. Coronavirus or not having only 300 handsets for 300000 preorders is terrible planning and a pathetic excuse. They had similar issues with the s9 release too from what I've heard.

Went in store to see if they had any woman said they had loads for tomorrow, so she saved one for me cancelled my online order and getting it tomorrow in store, recommend people do that.

Agreed it is a very poor job on Samsungs side. Unfortunately every single company who accepted preorders are now going to get the backlash with no idea of what to tell customers. I had a gut feeling it wouldn't come tomorrow as promised, hence my call to them and although it isn't EE at fault, I'm still very irritated. I've never done a preorder before and don't think I'll bother in future.

I am in the same boat was told I would get mine on the 9th of March and yet still no phone yet when I was in store to ask others who had pre ordered aswell where given theirs who ordered the same day as me, then every excuse came out in the politest way to say one is really annoyed and out of pocket.
it seems they are happy to take your money but won’t help when you need it

There was more than 300 I’m in a group and there’s loads that have received them. They don’t know what to tell us and this corona virus is probably making it more complicated.

Either way, we aren't going to be receiving ours anytime soon by the looks of it 😒 the EE call handler I spoke to earlier this week had promised me I'd have mine at the latest, Friday the 13th. The one I spoke to today, just basically said wait for an email but there is no guarantee as to when this will be.

As I mentioned on the previous post, the launch date for the device is tomorrow (13th March).
You shouldn't have been guaranteed that the delivery would be before then, as it is always stock dependant.
The delivery company DPD will be in touch with you when your phone is ready to be delivered.

Just called my local store and the woman asked her manager who I overheard saying none will be available tomorrow as they will be in quarantine for the next few weeks. Lies everywhere. Going to call the other two manchester stores now and record the calls.
