Router problem

The broadband router is not working smoothly. The orange light is on every now and then, and I have to reset the router. It works again but later similar problem occurs again. Does anyone overcome similar problem as this is so annoying? Doe anyone successfully request EE to change the poor performing router to a better quality router?

Is there any noise on your line? 17070 option 2, best with corded phone.
