Reserve data morning signal block

I'm on reserve data, for the past 3 mornings signal has been blocked from 8am onwards unless i venture a certain distance away from home. It not only affects mobile internet, but calls and texts too. Why is this happening.

Can you elaborate in more detail as to what the issue is?

Which Plan are you on, are you on an old T Mobile Plan per chance.

My phone shows there is signal but internet, calls and texts won't work after around 8am unless I go about 100 foot or more away from my home for a while. After being away for a while it's fine until next day at 8am when the problem starts again. It's a TCL 10 pro with 40gb data and unlimited calls/texts and video streaming boost thing. The plan was only taken out last year. The problem only started after reserve data kicked in Sunday night, but it's supposed to be slightly slower connection, not no connection.

Hi @Genjod ,

At 8am when the problem starts, have you tried turning airplane on and off to see if the problem is still present?

From the way you have written the symptoms, it is implied that at 8am something happens within a radius of 100 feet of your property to cause internet, calls, and texts to not work; and that this happens regularly immediately the next day at 8am. Such a situation is very odd so the above sanity check is a good one.

I can happily report no such thing has happened to me on Reserve Data in my roughly four months with the service provider. If you have a secondary device, such as an old phone unlocked to work with EE, it could double check that the described effect and symptoms are real in the other device. What could be special in a circle of radius 100 feet around your property currently eludes me. Good luck!

I've tried the airplane mode on/off, mobile data off/on, restarting phone, moving to different rooms. Not got an older phone to test with. Don't know what, if anything, is nearby that could block signal in that way, as doesn't happen with usual data.

What happens when you try to make a call when your service is apparently blocked?

There's just not much happening at all. No sound and then cuts off or no sound, something flashes up about call forwarding and then cuts off. When someone tries to ring me it doesn't ring, but still get missed call notification.

Hi @Genjod

I hope you're well and having a nice day, other than this issue of course.

The best thing to do is have a chat with our customer care team so they can look into this with you.

Thanks

Chris

Managed to sort problem out without having to venture outside. Turned mobile data off for half an hour and then back on. Signal seems to be alright again after that. Still seems a bit weird though.
