Hello everyone,
I have a problem which I am not sure how to deal with.
I have recently cancelled my contract with ee, however when having a conversation about this with one of your specialists I was assured that I can still keep the number "alive" by simply carrying out any activity (sending a text, calling) once a month. However, ever since receiving a message that my contract is effectively cancelled and I cannot make nor receive phone calls. Myee also doesn't show my number, and since I don't have a number to rely on nor any other phone to use to contact you about this matter, can I please ask if there is anything I can do to retrieve that number, preferably on a pay as you go basis?
Thanks for answers in advance!

@olalaa09 Did you request that your number to be switched to PAYG ? Have you top up your account if you did ? Are you using packs that last 30 days ?

No I didnt 😞 But that is only because after a phone conversation with a lady I was assured that my phone number will automatically switch to that as long as I send a text/make a call just once a month.
For this reason I wanted to indeed top up my account online but it doesn't seem possible at all.

Hi @olalaa09
Normally, unless you specifically ask your ex-pay-monthly number to be moved to PAYG upon cancellation, then it is disconnected and the number is no longer yours.
When was your pay-monthly account cancelled and number disconnected?

😞 the thing is that I still get message notifications when someone tries to contact my number, the phone call just doesn't go through!
I called to have my contract terminated on 14 January, on 9 January I received a text message saying that my contract has indeed come to an end however that I am (still?) on the best deal for data allowance whereby I don't have to do anything and I should keep getting unlimited texts, minutes and the same data allowance for the same price as my previous contract...?
Then, on 12 February I could no longer use data, make calls or send texts!

Without checking the exact number of days, 14/Jan > 12/Feb is around the 30day notice mark.
I would recommend you call EE C/S on 0800 0798586 from any working phone and speak to an agent. I suspect it's probably too late to recover your number, but this is a public internet forum and no-one on here has any access to your specific account in any case.
