Proof of ID on delivery

Nophunintendedd

Hi there,

I’m not sure if this is the correct place to post this question but basically I am awaiting a pay monthly phone delivery tomorrow afternoon but the only issue is that I cannot find my main form of ID and I only have my college ID which only displays my face, full name and DOB to hand. I live with my mother and I read that someone you live with can provide ID and accept the delivery but she doesn’t have any forms of photographic ID due to ill health which makes it tricky. Would I be allowed to use my college ID or would my delivery be cancelled/rejected due to failure of providing correct proof?

Many thanks in advance,

Rebecca S.

When we deliver your order to you or you come and collect it in store, we’ll also need to confirm your identity. Please have one of the following forms of photo ID to hand:

  • passport
  • driving licence photo card

If you choose to have your order delivered to your home, we also accept the following forms of photo ID: Police ID cards, Military ID cards and disability ID cards.

Don’t have any ID? You can give us a call to talk through your options or pop into one of our EE stores.

College ID is not accepted.

I should keep hunting for your other forms of ID.

Hello,

Thank you for your quick response. Do you know if Young Scot cards are approved too as that is my main form of ID that I have lost.

This is just nonsense.  I think I will be shopping elsewhere then.  I think it is hysterically hilarious that you think someone is going to hijack y order, then break into my home so they can pretend they are me just to steal my order.  Get a grip this is utter nonsense.

I sell on eBay and use DPD and this has never ever ever happened.  In fact I have never ever ever had a parcel go missing and claimed to be stolen.

DPD don't ask for ID for generic parcels that's why you never have this with them.

They are handing over a phone in most cases now worth over £1000.

You will find every network will require you to have proof of ID to receive the parcel from whatever delivery company they use. So go ahead and shop elsewhere. You'll hit the same policies there.

They are protecting you and themselves in doing this.
