PUK code not working abroad

KG2000

I am outside of the UK and am unable to use a different sim card. I have an email confirming that EE has unlocked the phone but when I use the new sim it asks for the PUK number, which is the same given on my EE and it says it is not working after I have the option to set a new pin (I now have only 2 attempts left). I spoke to customer services about this and they thought it was because outside of the UK the PUK code doesn’t work, but I have no way of contacting customer services anymore as I am travelling and roaming costs are too expensive. Is there any way to get the SIM card unlocked or any different PUK code I can use as I am not planning on returning to the UK and my phone is basically useless now.

Hi @KG200

Welcome to the community.

The PUK code is SIM related, it will be asking you the PUK code for the SIM card that's in the phone. Is that an EE SIM card, or is it on another network?
