No Mobile Data and unable to send text messages after switch

Ada5

Hi All,

Today in the morning my switch to EE has been succesfully completed.

Before my old number was transferred, my new EE card worked as it should: SMS + Mobile Data.

Since switch completed, I can't reply to any text messages (I receive them without an issue) and what is more annoying - can't use Mobile Data at all.

I reset network settings, I spent an hour with consulant, I asked for call back as can't spend all day at work trying to sort the problem, but nobody get back to me...

I placed my EE card into 2 other devices - no Mobile Data .

I put 2 different cards from other providers into my new phone - no problem with Internet.

Any thoughts?

Thank you very much for any assistance in advance

Hello @Ada5 and welcome to the community

Are you using the same phone with EE as you were with your previous provider? You've mentioned a network settings reset, so I assume you're using iOS - is that correct?

Can you make & receive calls ok? What happens when you try to use mobile data?

Hi, I have brand new Galaxy S20 FE from EE. I can make and receive calls, receive text messages.

Can't send messages and when turn mobile data on - nothing happens.

Had 4G icon when inserted EE card with temporary number, but after switch completed, internet icon never turned up again.

Hi @Ada5

Thanks for coming to the community.

Could you check something for me, if you log into your My EE app, go to Menu then Settings, do you have Mobile Data turned on?

I just want to make sure that is set to on, and not the cause of your data not working 🙂

Leanne.

Hello Leanne, sorry for late reply. After hours spent with EE consultants on the phone, neverending setting adjustments and resets -  finally they've done something in the "system" and now all back to normal 🙂

Glad you're back to normal, @Ada5

Thank you for your patience with this.

Chris 🙂

I have the same issue. No data and am unable to send any texts although I can receive them. Number moved in from another provider today.

Hi @DGH69

Welcome to the community. 🙂

What you're describing sounds like 'split service' which is normal on a port date. Sometimes you're able to make calls on one SIM, but receive them on the other.

This should correct itself by midnight tonight. It's worth restarting the phone every now and again. If it isn't working after midnight, I'd recommend speaking to our Mobile Care team tomorrow.

Let us know what happens.

Chris
