My PUK code is only 7 digits long

I need to unlock my sim card with the PUK code.  I have found the code but it is only 7 digits long and the phone login says it needs to be 8 digits long and won't unlock my phone.  What do I do?

@juliafarino   You’ll find your PUK code within your EE online account.   Where did you find “this” code

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

I called EE Technical Support and they gave me the number.  It is also the same number that is on my Account when I log into EE.  It is only 7 digits long but in order to unlock my SIM card, I am asked to enter an 8 digit number.

Hi @juliafarino

Thanks for posting.

What is the exact message showing on your phone?

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

It asks me to enter the PUK code saying that my SIM is locked. After I enter the 7 digit code it goes blank again and asks for 8 digits.

If I add a zero in front of the number, it accepts the 8 digits then asks for me to enter a new PIN number, I enter 4 digits, it asks me then to confirm the new PIN. I enter the new PIN number again and press the return button to enter. It then flashes up very quickly "incorrect PUK number" which the disappears and it then takes me back to beginning of the process asking me to enter my PUK number and tells me how many chances I have left which is now down to 5 remaining attempts.....

I would have thought that EE tech support would know how to make the 7 digit number acceptable when I called them but they didn't, so I thought I'd see if anyone in the community had had this happen to them and had found a way round it.

Thanks for you help.

Hi @juliafarino

Thanks for coming back to me.

Can I just check does the message show as PUK1 or PUK2?

Speak soon 🙂

Leanne.

Hi Leanne

It doesn't say either PUK1 or PUK2 just PUK.

"Enter PUK code (Remains: 4)

"SIM CARD IS PUK-LOCKED - EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY"

After I enter my PUK code of only 7 digits, the message "Input 8 digits" comes up in place of the message that said "Enter PUK code (Remains:4).
