Low upload and high ping on mobile data

FeeFeeFaddy

My upload speed is very low.... less than 1mb and my ping is in the hundreds making zoom calls for work problematic.  There are no network issues reported.  I am in a remote area however the download speed is lo

w but manageable .... is this a bandwidth issue potentially?

Hello @FeeFeeFaddy

Is this a recent problem, that's only just started, or has it long been an issue? Is anything reported on the coverage & status checker , if you select "check network" for the faults & issues lookup.

Are you using an EE mobile or a modem-type device? I'm only asking because you've mentioned being in a remote area and this may potentially mean you're using EE's "extended range" 800Mhz service which comes with some trade-offs with regards to attainable speeds.

There are no outages or faults reported ....

This is on on EE mobile.

I used to have better coverage but the last few months it's really dropped off.  All speeds are well down but it's the upload / lagging that's really impacting usage.

If nothing is listed currently, the next step would be to use the "report a problem" link and provide all the appropriate details for further investigation.

Are you using Android or iOS? Depending which device you have, there are different ways to identify the 4G-band in use and/or the ID of the 4G carrier your phone is connected to. This will enable checking of whether you're connected to an "extended range" 800Mhz carrier, which if under heavy load, would certainly explain your symptoms.
