I have Oneplus 6T which has suddenly lost its ability to supply notifications on screen for text messages. Have checked set up but all appears okay. Any clues on a setting I may have missed?

Hi @Chauffer
Welcome to the community. 🙂
Have you tried restarting your phone? Turning it off and back on again.

Thanks for trying that, @Chauffer
I recommend backing everything up and restoring to factory settings.
Let us know if it's any better after trying that.

Thank you for suggestion.
Not a computer buff - it was easy with Samsung but not sure how/to what I
back up to with OnePlus?

No worries, @Chauffeur. 🙂
Here's how to back up then restore your data and here's how to return the phone to factory settings:
- From the Home Screen, swipe up to view the App Drawer
- Scroll down to and tap on the Settings icon
- Scroll down to and tap on System
- Tap on Reset options
- Tap on Erase all data (factory reset)
- Tap on the box labeled RESET PHONE
- Tap on the box labeled ERASE EVERYTHING
- The device will now perform a Master Reset
Let me know how you get on.

Very helpful, thank you.
Just checking that it will back-up all my emails (not all are Google)?
Would this be the same process if I ever needed a replacement phone or
wanted to change phone during an up grade?
Really helpful Chris - I am glad someone knows something about computers and
mobile phones
Regards

You're welcome, @Chauffeur. 🙂
I'm not 100% sure it will back up your non-Google emails.
Yes, its the same process if you're changing phones. Best to regularly back up, just in case there's ever a problem with your phone and you can't retrieve data from it.
Chris 🙂
