Iphone11

New iPhone 11 not recognised by my Land Rover Freelander despite EE assurances it would be - cannot assign device to vehicle or vice versa. Other LR club members have had no issues assigning later models to earlier year cars. Any suggestions?

Also transferred everything from old iphone6 which had a trash folder - the 11 has a bin which conflicts with old folder- how do I remove it?

@baser999  is this via Bluetooth?  Because if it is it should work.

What trash folder/bin folder ?    Where are you seeing these ?

My iphone6 had a junk folder in my Hotmail account, replaced by ‘bins’ on the iPhone11. Having transferred everything between the two, I’m being told the folders are conflicting and to remove the junk folder . As hard as I’ve tried I cannot remove that old junk folder.
All my incoming emails are duplicated - presumably one to me @ hotmail the other to me @ iCloud? How to clear this?
Finally, why will the phone not connect to the car?

Go to your Hotmail Webmail, http://Outlook.com, & remove it there.

Been there, only options I’m offered are to create sub folder or add to favourites - delete is there but not a highlighted option. Wondered about moving into another less used folder then deleting but that’s not an option either 😡

with hindsight should have just repaired the old iphone6

@baser999  so that’s nothing to do with the phone but your email accounts.

What email address do you want to use or is it both ?    The Google email address will not have anything to do with the iCloud email address.  So your looking at 2 separate folders in two separate email accounts that are not linked in anyway.

@XRaySpeX  Oops.   I hit reply to you so couldn’t check what mail client it was.  I should of posted and amended that post.  Oh well.   It’s still 2 different mail clients and what they call their bin/trash folders does not effect the other mail client.

I read it as 2 separate email issues:

  1. The conflicting trash/bin folders, both under Hotmail.
  2. The duplicate emails received from both Hotmail & iCloud.

I have only attempted to address 1.

@baser999 , to set up your IPhone to work in the car, make sure that on your phone, you go into settings and click on bluetooth and make sure that with the car radio, which I presume you are trying to set it up, you have also gone into settings bluetooth and then there should be one for setting your phone to work with the car, your instruction book for the car should tell you how to do this, there should be no problems, I have had three different IPhones and have managed them, but do not have the same car as yours, hope you get it sorted, otherwise go to a garage, they should be able to help, I am sure, possibly even Halfords if there is one.
