Gifting data

I’m trying to gift data from my phone to my 4Gee WiFi. Both monthly plans on same contract. When I try, it tells me I can’t gift from a watch - I don’t have a watch!! Is gifting from phone to 4GEE WiFi not allowed. If not, where does it tell me that?

Ah OK, @Johncv

I was just looking at the terms and conditions for data gifting. It seems that's the only pay monthly device you can't gift data to and from.

Chris

thanks. I clearly misunderstood what I was told. i might have looked for another solution to my rural broadband problem if I'd realised!!!

I have just come across this, as I have reached my mobile broadband limit, and having only just taken on another sim which cam late and now has 20GB on my phone for 24hrs, but no way of gifting to my main hub....

Of course, I could just swap the sim from my phone with the hub, so others can access the wifi, but that is an inconvenient way of getting around a problem which is pretty much created by this ee condition.

I did not realise there is one type of account that could NOT have data gifted to it - the FAQs do not advise that there are devices which cannot be gifted to.

I am really not happy about this -  it doesn't makes sense and seems wholly unfair to those who rely on mobile broadband, who have to pay over the odds for a short period of time to top up...for me, I'd have to pay £10 for 5GB to last a day on my hub, when I have 19GB on my phone for 12 hours which I will not use.

Hi @SaulMahoney

Welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not happy about this. Is it a 4GEE Home Device that you have? It's mentioned in the Data Gifting terms and conditions (page 3) that those plans aren't eligible for Data gifting.
