Fibre Price increase 30%

Hello all

I've been advised our Fibre contract will renew this month but will change from £24.14 to £32.14 a month. This is a 30% increase which seems steep. We're EE mobile customers too, with 4 devices and we've been customers for years.

And our fibre speed is only 18Mbps?? Is it worth it?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thankyou.

Um. you are running barely at the low end of the expected range.

Locate the hidden test socket that is revealed when you remove the bottom half of the split faceplate (2 screws or press tabs) of your master socket. Only do this if you have a split faceplate. Do you have any extension sockets in the home even if unused? Are there any wires connected to back of faceplate of master socket?

Try the BT Quiet Line Test (QLT), dial 17070 Opt 2, preferably with a corded phone, in the test socket with the router disconnected. If there is any noise, report it to your landline provider as a voice fault (don't mention Broadband). Often sorting out voice faults will fix the Broadband as well.

Reboot the router & plug it into the test socket. Post the full router stats & System Uptime when plugged into test socket.

@Chris_B  You don't think a downstream noise margin of 9.8 is a connection issue?

@XRaySpeX   Read the very first post.    It’s about price and a 30% increase.  and “ And our fibre speed is only 18Mbps?? Is it worth it?“.  that’s not a question about do I have an issue it’s a question of is it worth it.    That’s why I replied with what I did.

Your 2nd comment requested stats  and you requested that before any mention of speed issues what’s brought up on this thread.     As the post with speed issue  was posted in a reply to me and I posted after you requested stats.

So who knows what you was thinking when you requested that as there was no question about speed dropouts at that point.

For £32 Fibre? Really? It doesn't have to a Q if you knew anything about BB!

@XRaySpeX  Is it worth it was the question and you didn’t answer that

At no point did you say why you wanted the stats. Nothing like explaining why as you didn’t say there might also be an issue with the connection.
