EE do not acknowledge that I am the account holder when I login to my account, EE refuses to start live chats with me and when I spoke to them on the phone, EE hung up (after suddenly stopping talking). When I called EE back, no one answered (it was a bit like a crossed line).

Liber chat is only for contract customers not pay as you go, if the latter applies to you then that is why, and also, it depends whether someone is available to live chat.
Not sure why you got cut off when speaking to EE, but it could be that the line went dead, this can happen and you think they hung up on you.
Due to the pandemic, there are fewer staff working, as some are self isolating etc. I would suggest you give them a call and they should be able to help. It sounds like it could be your phone or another reason may be adverse weather affecting it and that is why a cross line.
