EE Were unable to accept my order?

Hello, me again!

I went ahead yesterday and upgraded my contract to the £66 Smart iPhone 100GB plan, with the iPhone 12 mini 128 GB in green. I used a student beans discount code (rip me not realising I could have been benefiting from that all this time!), and didn't have to pay my EU fee as the plan base price was more expensive than my current plan.

 

I received an email just now saying my order couldn't be accepted. I know this wasn't to do with a credit check as I get a trio of emails (Clearscore, Credit Karma and Experian) whenever so much as a soft search is carried out. Unsure what has happened here, wondering if anyone would be able to shed some light without me needing to clog up 150.

If you have had an email from us regarding your order, you would need to give us a call so our Mobile Care team can check the order and let you know why this was not accepted.

Hello!

 

Thanks for the advice, @Leanne_T! I didn’t need to call the care team as, well, they called me first! It was explained that my order was rejected because it effectively had two discounts applied (as the EU fee reduction is considered a discount.)

 

After a friendly back and forth, some wrestling with technology and mysterious disappearing SKUs, we managed to get it all sorted and I’m anticipating having a shiny new device tomorrow.

 

All said and done, a really great reminder of why EE continues to be one of my favourite providers to deal with.
