Disgusting Price Increase!

I've just had the email that you are now cashing in on the cost of living crisis by smashing a massive 14.4 % increase on my bill.

Its absolutely disgusting, at a time when people are struggling to eat and heat their homes you decide to hit us with that ridiculous increase, not just a few % you up it by 14.4%

Its sick and I'll never be using EE again when this contract ends, I'll also be going out of my way to warn other people from using you, there's absolutely no justification in a hike like that, its pure greed and you should be ashamed.

You're a disgrace!

Are EE seriously increasing their bills by up to £11 a month? 10.5% plus an extra 4%??? That’s just greed! nothing more to say about that but greed,15% increase?time to leave EE I reckon

Yes, EE are serious about increasing bills by CPI + 3.9%, which this year works out as 14..4%, as per the contract you accepted.

I have just done the same, my contract went for £32ish to £38 It was £28 when I started in 2017. If you like EEs network there are some good new customer deals out there so you can rejoin down the line. See my post above relating to problems with this though.

My recommendation would be to never take a longer contract that 12 months. This gives you the freedom to negotiate / leave when they hike the prices again next April. I think its  very poor business practice to lock people into long contracts with mid term price increases!

Where am I defending anything? I'm just stating a fact that you can find in the newspaper, the News, Consumer mags, Money programmes & sites, Martin Lewis, ... !

well you are defending them,Sky are putting prices up 9% not 14% so yeah I understand EE are somehow more expensive Than the rest but for the service you get it’s seriously not worth it.especially when EE dump you on a 24 month contract and increase prices twice sometimes more per annum,it’s greed at the end of the day from EE I understand inflation is at 10% that doesn’t explain a 14.4% increase from EE you know what does explain it?GREED

peace out

I totally agree I’ve never been On less than 24 month contract with EE didn’t even know they HAD 13 month contract tbh I’ve never been offered one.Plus they always seem to be 2 mobiles behind I get the iPhone 12 every other service provider gives you the iPhone 14..but EE are the more expensive service provider.it’s greed nothing else

I always buy my handsets direct from apple and take a sim only mobile contract. Costwise it works out about the same but gives you much more freedom and negotiating power.

Received the email regarding increase near the end of Feb...just renewed contract a few months prior.  Upon renewing I reduced costs across my broadband etc, continued to stress need to reduce where I could.  Disgusting to received the 14.4% increase...across numbers that I hold (one being for my daughter who has short term memory).  EE advised they only receive the increase notification in Feb to issue to customers...further reading shows EE would have received 01 Jan...  when calling was told "you've been with us for some time and should know about the increase" rude and unhelpful.  Irrespective of duration...transparency, early notice to allow those that had the option to opt out cooling period to exercise in addition...no, I did not expect a 14.4% increase across all three numbers attached to one account...I would not have renewed!

Locked in now for 24months...Will be looking else where once the lock in has reduced...customer service rude and transparency questionable!

I think it is a disgrace that you have implemented the CPI+3.9% when everyone is struggling. It would have been nice for once to offer a compromise during this crisis. When my contract ends I will not be renewing with EE on this principle alone. You should hang your heads in shame when a bill increases from £87 a month to £101 a month just because "you can". To make matters worse you have stopped access to the online complaints form being sent! What an absolute shambles EE have turned out to be.
