Disgusting Price Increase!

I've just had the email that you are now cashing in on the cost of living crisis by smashing a massive 14.4 % increase on my bill.

Its absolutely disgusting, at a time when people are struggling to eat and heat their homes you decide to hit us with that ridiculous increase, not just a few % you up it by 14.4%

Its sick and I'll never be using EE again when this contract ends, I'll also be going out of my way to warn other people from using you, there's absolutely no justification in a hike like that, its pure greed and you should be ashamed.

You're a disgrace!

What phone do you use? You already asking why they rise the bill?

Galaxy s22 I payed 96 a month with my PlayStation now its 105 after its been put up I really don't understand why so much of a rise and just guna make it harder to pay my bill on time then use will charge me extra aswell for not paying on time I'm not happy Sent from my Galaxy

@Darryl1993  the increase is 14.4%  and the yearly price increase would have been explained to you and you would have had to agree to the T&Cs of the contract before you took it out.   The PlayStation you purchased has nothing todo with the yearly price increase and that was your choice to purchase.    All networks have increased prices as per their T&Cs at this time of year, and one network has increased it more than this.

I renewed my contract (3 lines) in January 2023 and was offered free EU roaming.

I have checked this month's bill in detail (downloaded the pdf bill) and noticed that they have added EU roaming £2.27 a day  'add on' in all 3 line along with Free EU roaming 'add on'.

I called customer services why there is a chargeable add on for EU roaming in my account whilst it was offered free. They advised that they can not remove EU roaming - 2.27 a day 'add on' from my account but will refund if I ever get charged and advised me to set my spending limit to zero.

I am going to visit Spain for family holiday and if they will charge (even refund later), that will be £2.27 times 3 lines times 10 days = £68 I have to pay initially and I need to remove 'spending cap' from my account otherwise it won't work ....!!!

They said, they can't help with this and left a note in my account that EU roaming is free (it's already in my contract) but I am not sure, how much it will cost me tbh and I am not a happy customer.

@AJ2023  if you have an add on that gives you free EU roaming then this will override the standard roaming daily charge add on. This standard charge add on is part of all contracts and can not be removed from an account it’s built in to it, but any add on will override that changeable add on.

Thanks @Chris_B

You explained so well then the useless customer support assistance, seems you have excellent  knowledge about EE and its products. Keep up good work.

So having done some extensive research into this, because I've clearly got nothing better to do on my days off, looking at mast sites utilised by EE, within a few mile square radius of my house there are 4 masts, on the second closest one I am right on the very edge of the transmission range, on one of the Cell bands. On all of the other 3 masts (including one which is no more than 1/4 mile from my house and mounted 30 metres up above a church tower) my address is not covered by any of the cellular bands. I also spoke with an EE tech support rep on the live chat just now who has stated that I was connected to a mast in a certain area, I checked this area and located the mast in a field next to a small country lane. I then looked at elevation maps and found that my address has an approximate elevation of 212 metres above sea level and the mast is located somewhere approximately 186 metres above sea level. The mast is NOT 30metres off the ground and is probably not even 10M off the ground.

This mast only covers half of my road, and i'm probably the last house within the transmission band. How ludicrous is it to place a mast on top of a church tower 30 metres off the ground that ONLY covers a range of around 200 metres, the transmission band shown is a "kite" shape and of course my address is well of out this band, despite being no more than a 30 second drive from the mast itself.

It appears that my road, along with about 5 other small roads that form a rectangular shape on a map, all happen to be within a square radius of about 100 metres that is entirely untouched by all of the masts except one, and that one only covers half of my road.

If EE want to increase prices, and expect me to be happy to pay for it. Are they going to erect a mast closer to my house? Or install higher power transmitters to their existing ones? Thought not. No doubt they need planning and whatever other nonsense to modify transmission power and alter frequencies.

A 14.4% increase isn’t detailed in the contract and while it stipulates they CAN raise prices, it doesn’t mean they have to. It’s rank profiteering and it’s only the UK government’s unwillingness to regulate those that line their pockets that allows what amounts to usury and price gouging.
