Hello, I have purchased a Pay as you go Sim to use outside the UK. However, it appears as if the sim card isn't activated. Even though I have topped up credit in my account, I am unable to buy any packages (I don't even get an error message - I am told the purchase is successful but that 0pounds are deducted and the pack isn't in use) and I am also unable to use some free MB of data that came with the sim (I have no connection to the internet whatsoever). I was told by customer support to try calling or texting a UK number to activate the sim but I am unable to do either - texts don't get delivered (can't even text 150) and calls get immediately shut down. I would truly appreciate some help, thank you for your time.

Hi @Alexyo
EE Sims are designed to be used on the UK network, with roaming as a benefit.
EE PAYG Sims have to be activated on the UK EE network. If you haven't done this then it won't work. There is no way around this process.
Thanks

Thank you for your quick response. I was not made aware of this - I left the UK for a while given the current situation and bought this pay as you go sim for this specific reason. Also, I have already paid for credit to use on said card. There must be a way for the card to be activated manually by EE surely?

Hi @Alexyo
Unfortunately not. PAYG Sims have to be activated on the UK network.
As I say the sims are designed for the UK network.
Thanks
