Broadband Issues - Local Interface Question

My broadband fibre to the end of road has been playing up for well over a week - had all the online diagnostics, EE Engineer visit, then a Openreach engineer to the Cab and the house.

The internet drops but the aqua light stays on the hub, sometimes it comes back on it own after a few minutes other time if you remove the cable to the master socket until it drop the line completely plug the cable back in it will reacquire the broadband the then the internet.

When these drop outs happen I cannot connect to the local interface 192.168.1.254 on the router -

Not only can I not connect using a browser but I cannot reach it from a cmd line ping.

I explained this to both engineers,

if this is on the LAN side of the router then how can the external line affect it, If the line is at fault I would expect to be able to see the internal interface.

EE engineer, saw no issues with the router etc so Openreach  came out - no major issues found but the line was not performing perfectly. He replaced the master socket  - reset the port at the cab and check the physical connections.

The issue is still there it drops randomly, I notice it multiple times a day but it could be more.   It is not WIFI as I have a device connect to the router via ethernet.

@JOV1  I think you may have to look into the router logs to try and spot anything that is causing your issues - but beware there will be loads of irrelevant things to look at.

CS may have spotted something on their systems, or they may just be clutching at straws - there is a limited list of things they can do or see.

Another router may help, have they offered one?

@mikeliuk  perhaps you are thinking of ethernet activity LED's - it would be interesting to hear where people can find them on the EE Router?

The logs were checked by EE Engineer, nothing significant the router had been up for longer than the broadband indicating an external issue unless that interface froze.

In fact, if I remove the cable to the master socket whilst everything is working I can still ping that interface. This makes me suspect a router issue. Hence my question as to how a line issue could prevent me accessing that interface.

I'm still waiting on ipconfig.

Why!

I have checked the config - and from my limited knowledge from my ICND1 and 2 courses a few moons ago I can see no issues, also what is the significance of a single local host IP configuration when there are 3 windows machines one Linux and at least 5 android devices that cannot access the internet.

I asked a question as to why I cannot see the local internal/gateway because of a line issue/fault, which is what EE have said it is. .

May I see the result of the ipconfig? You don't know what I'm looking for.

I do not see the relevance - I have checked the config and it was checked by EE over the phone. the only common elements from a local host would be the gateway and subnet mask, plus there are multiple devices on used all are affected.

here it is.  However, It would be nice if my original question could be answered.
