4GEE Home Router with no password

I have purchased a Huawei 4GEE Home Router online and its not arrived with any password therefore I can't set up my router. The sticker where the password would supposedly be at bottom of the device has been removed. I've reset it and tried the password 'admin' however that is too short. Any suggestions on how I can bypass this? The router cost £100 so it really is a shame.

@y0katspa  Where did you purchase this from ?   It if was directly from EE you’ll need to call customer services about it.  If it wasn’t from EE then unfortunately no one at EE can help you’ll need to contact the seller of the device.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Unfortunately it wasn't purchased from EE. I bought it off someone and I'm wondering if theres any way I can make use out of this router, perhaps if anyone knows what the default password could be

Hi @y0katspa,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Sorry, there isn't a default WiFi password for 4GEE routers, it's unique to each device.

James

Thank you for your information. Is there any way that I can generate a password or get through to this device?

Hi @y0katspa,

The original owner can contact Customer Care to request the password if they have lost it.

James

No original owner available. Any other tips?

@yOkatspa.. I have an EE 4G router.  The WiFi code came on a supplied credit sized card which I had the option to change.  It was also printed on a sticker under the router.  Without either of these you're stuffed I'm afraid.  If it were me I would return to sender.

Does the Router have a RJ45 Ethernet Port or a USB Port so it can be used in PC Dongle Mode, if so try that you should then be able to bypass WiFi and access Admin Setup directly through these Ports.

You may have to wait for the PC or Lappy to setup, recognise and possibly download additional drivers or software to get in to this stage or mode.

@EssexBoyEE : Even Ethernet'ed you can't get into the router's GUI w/out the admin pwd, which the OP doesn't have & which is unique to that particular router.
