3 weeks, still no unlock code

I have been waiting almost 3 weeks after EE said they would unlock my device. 

The email says a maximum of 10 days....

I have been into the store and spoke to them via the online chat 4 times and still nothing. 

I cannot use my phone until this is sorted.

@Jf_98 : Have you already paid EE an unlocking fee?

 

Where did you yourself get this device itself originally? Did you buy it yourself new direct from EE or from a 3rd-party reseller or is it 2nd-hand? The unlocking process & costs are different. Was it originally on contract or PAYG? How old is it? EE won't unlock contract devices less than 6 months old.

I am at the end of my pay monthly contract of 2 years. 

The original was an EE device as part of my contract. This device is a replacement from my insurance provider, as the original broke. I'm unsure if that makes it second hand?

An EE employee advised that no fee was necessary as my contract has ended. They proceeded to get the unlock request for me - which was 3 weeks ago.
