messages does not work

hello! for some reason, i cannot send messages or receive messages BUT it also takes my credit still, which i find VERY annoying. how do i fix both issues?

What device do you have and did you get it from EE. 

I assume you're on PAYG. Have you tried restarting your device?

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.
I use the iphone 8+ and it was EE locked. i have used an EE sim card for
years now, and i’ve not had issues with it, but now i do. i’ve restarted
the phone but no solutions

Are you able to make and receive calls on the phone?

Is this happening with more than one number?

Can you access the internet? 

iMessage uses data as it connects to the internet. Try deactivating iMessage and text message will go via EE. If that works then it's iMessage/data which is the issue.
